Artists
Painting · Sculpture
Explores tactility and the human condition through large-scale expressionist paintings, ceramic sculptures, and found-object assemblages.
Painting
Heavily layered gestural paintings in which figures and symbols drift up through the mark-making, rendering pre-colonial African myth and the supernatural as something half-seen, half-felt.
Drawing
Loose, wiry pen-and-ink drawings with a zine sensibility — figures, objects, and text tangled together in a deadpan vernacular.
Painting
Figurative paintings reflecting Black queer identity and embracing intersectionality through saturated colors, bold patterns, and organic forms.
Painting · Mixed media
Oil paintings and mixed-media assemblages orbiting American power and religious iconography, with Old Masters filtered through a restless, material-minded irreverence.
Painting · Drawing
Surrealist internal landscapes populated by frenzied humanoid and beastly figures — sex, death, and liminality rendered in paint.
Painting
Layering paint only to wipe it away, her tactile process mirrors the fragility of memory — atmospheric color and emotionally charged gazes giving way to themes of rage, ambiguity, and concealment.
About
The New York Artists cooperative is a member-run organization dedicated to supporting art practice in New York City.
We believe that a thriving artistic culture depends not only on individual talent, but on the plurality that makes ambitious creative work possible. At a time when rising costs, social fragmentation, and digital mediation increasingly isolate artists from one another, we seek to build a durable network of practitioners committed to maintaining active artistic practices.
Through exhibition opportunities, peer critique, public programming, project grants, and cooperative governance, we provide artists with the resources and relationships necessary to develop their work and contribute to the cultural life of the city.
